Porous Titanium Alloy Metallography Sample Solution

As an ideal material for lightweight and functional applications, porous titanium alloy combines the high strength of titanium with the unique advantages of a porous structure. It not only significantly reduces weight and provides a large specific surface area, but also features excellent biocompatibility and energy absorption capacity.

It has been widely used in orthopedic implants, aerospace lightweight components, high-efficiency filtration systems, catalyst supports and other fields.

To ensure reliable performance and safe service, strict metallographic examination is essential. By accurately analyzing microstructure characteristics such as porosity, pore size distribution and interconnectivity, the mechanical properties and bio-integration performance of the material can be effectively evaluated and controlled.

Sample Preparation Procedure

1️⃣ Grind flat with P400 SiC sandpaper + water

2️⃣ Polish with P800 SiC sandpaper + water to remove previous scratches

3️⃣ Polish with P1200 SiC sandpaper + water to remove previous scratches

4️⃣ Polish with P2000 SiC sandpaper + water to remove previous scratches

5️⃣ Polish with YS-JP polishing cloth + 1 μm PD-WT polycrystalline diamond suspension

6️⃣ Final polish with ZN-ZP polishing cloth + 50 nm SO-A539 silica suspension
